Success Stories

Case 1: Managing extreme topography and climate
One of the most popular pilgrimage sites located in North India was facing acute problem of Sewage handling. Due to difficult terrain, water availability was a major problem.

The major deterrents for providing effective solutions were: turbulent climatic conditions, temperature variation, huge geographical spread (approximately 12 kilometers), hilly terrain, fluctuating sewage loads and high seasonal foot-fall (more than 7 millions pilgrims visited in 2007).

Feasibility study of the entire area for sewage generated at different locations was done by ACME Enviro to:
- Provide sewage treatment for entire area
- Estimate the water available for reuse after treatment
- Determining the capacities of STP at different locations for best optimization

ACME Enviro has placed various plants to address the issues which could not be addressed by the existing centralized plant. The plants are successfully working since October 2007 and have helped the management in providing hygienic environment to all the pilgrims.

Issue ACME Enviro Solution
Hilly Terrain - Installation concerns Easy deployment
Space availability Low Foot Print
Elaborate plumbing requirements for sewage collection Decentralized concept of treatment
High shock loads Solution provided to absorb shock loads
Expensive O & M because of manpower Fully automated solution provided

Case 2: Creating commercial value through water management
One of the leading real estate developers with pan India operations wanted to provide its work force with hutments, primary education for their kids along with the primary medical facilities. Once the entire area was constructed, the critical issue of sewage handling & hygiene for the residents surfaced. Existing solutions were either too large for the space available or too expensive to be deployed in the worker’s colony.

The major deterrents for providing the effective solutions were: absence of sewage lines in the area, heavy requirement of water for domestic and landscaping uses, high BOD & COD loads. In absence of any effective solution, tankers were being used for the disposal of sewage. Every day approximately 60 tankers were deployed to tackle the situation leading to high cost implications.

ACME Enviro studied the situation and proposed to deploy an economically viable solution. Through its proposed solutions, ACME Enviro has successfully addressed the issue.

The customer was benefited by:
- Considerably lower sewage handling cost
- Abundant availability of water for secondary usage
- Solution for treated water reuse for construction purpose
- Adherence to CPCB guidelines for treatment
- Increasing the aesthetics of the locality while having hygienic sorroundings
